Hi Yvonne,
Muting Jaws as you are speaking of,does not appear to me to have any
benefit.
If you mute jaws, the clock is still running, and your 40-minute mode will
expire whether Jaws is talking or not.
Why not keep Jaws from loading at start-up, and use NVDA, and then use your
hotkey to bring

Hi All,
I'm trying to center a line of text in a Word 2007 document using JAWS 10 on my
XP Home with SP3 machine and JAWS seems to be claiming that it is still aligned
left.
I thought either pressing Control E and then typing the text I want centered
and Control L to go back to aligned left

You can either go into ms config and tell jaws not to start up. You can also
go into setting with insert j if your running from sys tray or alt on the
jaws window if not. Go into settings then basic. Just uncheck where it says
to start jaws automatically.

I checked to make sure my document is maximized and it was. I was able to

document. I found zoom in the view menu and it should now be set to 75%.
Any thoughts for fixing the centering problem would be greatly

Hi,
Using Jaws 10, IE 7 Vista home...
Thought had Java on this PC but having trouble finding out if enabled. Have
gone through menus on IE and looked via Control panel but when entered on Java
link after working through other settings nothing appears. I can't find on
programmes menu ...
Mark,
to look if you have Java installed on your PC, go to add/remove programs in
XP or programs and features in Windows 7 OS.
To look whether your java is enabled or not, look in Internet explorer,
tools, find there, manage add ons or something like that.
open it, there you can see a list of
