Hi John,
By default, in Windows XP, the control panel won't show up in My Computer,
unless you set it to in Folder Options.

Unfortunately the tractor lit on the left side has broken and won't stay
closed. I have found a repair person for the unit. Here's hoping that parts can

Hello Listers,
I just purchased a new laptop. I want to hear what you all think.
System Name and Type: Laptop - Inspiron 15R
Monitor: 15.6 High Definition (720p) LED Display with TrueLife
Color: Switch by Design Studio - Diamond Black
It seems like a good computer to me. I'm partial to HP myself. It sounds
pretty much like the laptop I intended to buy as my backup computer in March
or April. I was involved in a project and didn't want to take my HP 8130
DV7 which is my Laptop but also my primary computer back and forth
On my XP Start menu, there is no such item as Settings. The only item that
comes close is Set Program Access and Defaults, which contains no reference
to the Control Panel. What am I missing?

There is more than a single method to finding the control panel, but it is
the fastest way I have found to get there and it never fails. So far as
being great, not really I only do this as a hobby to keep me from playing

If you are using the Classic start menu, control panel is located within the
