Yes. Most laptops do have a switch that will turn wireless on and off. I have a
dell laptop that has said switch on the side. It can be a bit difficult !get a
fingernail in there to turn wireless on and off, but other than that it is
fairly simple.

Hi Pedro,
I don't use a laptop computer but, i have read somewhere that there might be
a button or switch that turns on your wireless card. Hopefully someone will
expand upon this & get you pointed in the right direction. Also, what brand
/ model laptop is it? Take care.

I'd seen this before, and evidently back then did exactly what you said
twice in a row not seeing any options or difference in a status, and
very likely dismissedly and unknowingly toggled it back on again. So far it
seems to have worked with the delay.

I don't have the problem your speaking about, in fact, I don't see nothing

IE9 works different than IE8. I am not sure how the new methods work
with older versions of JAWS. Instead of a dialog that pops up for
things like security, or approving an add-on, or a file download, it
displays the message of the dialog and the buttons for it's options in
the Information bar.

You could try using nvda an open source screen reader.
It works well with ie 9.
I have it on my computer and use it almost all the time.
The only time I do not use it is to do some design in Microsoft access.
When you first download it the voices leave a lot to wish for.

An example of why IE 8 works better with Jaws 11, at least is a page called

I got a new Dell Win 7 laptop recently and it came with IE 9. On my previous

be done. But on the new one there was not an IE 8 to roll back to. When I
searched on the Microsoft site it said there was IE 8 for XP but
