Do be aware that the intake and the exhaust can become blocked by snow, it
happens to me most every year at some point. The safety devices sense if there
is too much resistance to the exhaust and they won't allow the furnace to
ignite. What can happen is a drift of snow will cover the outlet, it
Hello Scott!
I am now down to three routers but over the years have had five and doubtless
will collect at least one and maybe two more. There are a few things which make
some better than others and the features continue to improve. They include:
Quarter or half inch chuck
Wrenchless bit change
I had two furnaces installed in my house a couple years ago.
The vent they use has a single pipe through the wall, but it is divided so
that fresh air comes in and exhaust air goes out.
There is a special cap on the ned so it is not an open pipe end.
Blessings,
Tom

doing myself and the rest is by professionals. I plan to change the drive

David, keep us posted on the results and the installation of that new

Scott, if I understand your post, I would say that a roto tool would
be ok for small jobs, but I don't think it would have the power of a
good router. If you do get a router, I would suggest getting a
router table as well. A plunge router has a bit more versatility
than a fixed base router.
Dan, your a wise man so I'm going to just take your advice. My
question has certainly generated some interesting discussion and
things to consider for myself.
Thanks again to you and all who have contributed to this fascinating
thread.

Wow, that sounds great. I have never used a router, but I do have a
little kit deal that will let me turn my Roto-tool into a plunge

gotten around to using it in this manner. Guess I still want to learn
how to do it, but ju

We've decided to go with the 95% efficiency model furnace. It's $240 more than
the 94% unit but I figure with the price of natural gas and electric spiking
around here almost every day that minor cost adjustment won't even be
noticeable at all. It's a Lennox if I spell that correctly unit and th
