All, We found an automotive scann tool that interfaces between standard vehicle diagnostic connector and a serial port on a windows or dos computer.
Software appears to be free, opensource We are going to buy one to see what we can make of it, but I know others may be iterested. http://www.Scantool.net device is a ElmScan part number 421200. $139.95 It says the software displays "codes' and allows some functions to be adjusted. Have no idea if it might be accessible. Will report more when we know it.
