I too like Electrolux the best. i did vac before using the Hoover carpet steamer. But the intake for water on it just didn't do ditlley. It was a bit clogged. But even all that air blowin underneath the thing didn't do much unless I would leave it there, running to move something out of the

Speaking to about 50 people, I get: Electrolux, Oreck, and Hoover wind tunnel in the highest percentage for best vacuum. How about carpet cleaning machines of the upright, or small commercial size? Best, any experience? Thanks

Ah well first yes, a truck-mounted unit will surely clean carpets like no ones business, I can swear to this. I don't know much about the commercial or residential versions of the Electrolux machines. I do know they are fairly expensive, but I've heard they do a good job. I've got 3
