I have been having a problem where I can not put the machine into stand-by mode. It started a few days ago. At first I thought it was a software setting. Looking around I could not find anything that was changed or any settings that I must check. Last night I used total system backups to put the computer in a state prior to when the problem happened. This did not correct the problem. Is stand-by handled by the chip set on the mother board? If it is something going wrong with the mother board I guess I should seriously start looking around for a new machine. This computer is 10 years old It is a 1.2ghz with 512 meg memory and a 40gb hd. It does everything that I need it to do, hate to go through the process of replacing. --- Please visit my home page; it is motivational, inspirational and humorous with many resources for the blind. http://www.lennymchugh.com Lenny Please Copy and Paste into New Message to pass along.
