MLCS periodically has free project plans. I have been looking at this set of plans and decided to modify it. My wife and a friend collect thimbles and my brother, brother-in-law and son-in-law collect shot glasses. The plans call for divots in the shelves to hold golf balls. I have a bottom cleaning bit that I think will make a nice dado to hold the thimbles and shot glasses. This way they can balance an uneven number of items. The other modification to the plans is that I plan to use 5/8" stock instead of the 1/2" as directed. The only tool I need to purchase is the 3/8" keyhole router bit. That is why I am going to thicker stock the plans call for a keyhole mounting slot in the sides of the frame. This will give me 1/8" on each side as opposed to the 1/16". The plans are in PDF format and are fairly easy to understand.
