Good day, I have alpine working through gmail and on my work setup, I got it working using oauth2. For the oauth2 setup you need the latest version 2.26 to work. The gmail setup was easier, but I had to jump through a few hoops for both to work. Once done, both works fine though. HTH, Willem

Tim here. In addition to Mutt, NeoMutt, aerc, mh/nmh, and sup already mentioned here, there's also the venerable mail(1) (sometimes packaged as "mailx" or "heirloom-mail) program. It's just a mail-reader, relying on your system mail configuration to send mail, so that could be a simple

Okay so, how easy is it to set Alpine up to work with gmail? On this machine I don't have my .muttrc stuff so I'd like to try out Alpine, but unfortunately I'm not sure if there's an easy way to hook it into my gmail a la Thunderbird or guides for Mutt Jace On 7/18/23 22:45, Linux for blind

Thanks all for answering. As for Alpine, earlier today I stumbled upon a dead URL which was suposed to be its official web page, but now I went to Gentoo package database and there is a reference to an active page at alpineapp.email, so It's still alive. Seems a good option indeed, as it has a

Well Cleversom, are their reasons you didn't consider Alpine? Alpine is quite configurable-and-you can run an alternative editor such as NANO. Alpine works really well with Speakup, but I wish I didn't have to hear an opeening announcement of version number-and-initial keystroke. I have no idea

I use mutt with speakup, and it works very well. But yes, that's after tweaking, configuring, and adding some support scripts. On Tue, Jul 18, 2023 at 06:05:10PM -0300, Linux for blind general discussion wrote: > Hi, I'm setting up an environment on my new Gentoo installation. I'm > thinking of

Hi, I'm setting up an environment on my new Gentoo installation. I'm thinking of setting up an e-mail client at the console rather than a desktop client like Thunderbird, because console programs tend to be more performant and stable. On the other hand, I prefer text reading on desktop
