For APF you want to use the following at the prompt.
apf -u ip.address
To unblock and then
apf -a ip.address
to make a permanent allow rule.

I you have DFix2 from Compass / Solarspeed
edit your /etc/hosts.allow ad the IP
then restart sec
/etc/rc.d/init.d/sec restart
then to check do
dfix2.sh start
Look to see if the IP you added is listed
