I would like to add a different perspective here. I once knew some die-hard
word perfect users, who swear by a version of that product that only runs on
MS-DOS. They had thousands upon thousands of documents created in this file
format, but they refused to move to anything more modern. Microsoft
Had a machine not recover cleanly after a reboot. httpd and sshd didn't
come up. was hanging on cced.
I ran /etc/init.d/cced.init rehash
to get things going. That got sshd and httpd back up but I then ran
service cced.init restart
to confirm that things would be normal at the next reboot ... it

There may be other instances of CCEd or parts of it running. Kill them
off first:
killall -9 cced
killall -9 pperld
Check with "ps axf" to see if there are still CCEd related processes
such as handlers or constructors running. If so, kill them off as well.
Then restart
Same results. Seems to be spending a lot of time on
/usr/sausalito/constructor/base/vsite/import_php_ini_settings.pl ... but
maybe that's unrelated.
