No worries. :-)
I think this is pretty neat and would make a nice optional package. With
the tools that are already included it should be a breeze to import
existing Bind zone-files into SQL on the fly.
That way people could choose

Hi,
I have been getting complaints about more spam than usual and looking through
my logs I saw the following in /var/log/maillog:
Jan 21 09:33:02 bx5106 spamd[20614]: dcc: [21022] finished: exit 6

Yup. Sorry I didn't get around to that yet.

Hi Gregg,
Earlier I asked:

I found out how that's done:

Even without the "native" MySQL/MariaDB database replication in place
PowerDNS can sync the

That sounds good. I still have to replace one

Our cPanel servers use PowerDNS. It's fine. It works.
I ask because I'm looking for an alternative to MyDNS/MyDNS-NG.
Yeah, that project has
I just noticed that FTP is not working on a new 5209
I unticked the ftp service in the GUI and then ticked it and saved to restart
but that did not help.
I then looked at systemctl –l status xinetd and got the following:
[root@sm xinetd.d]# systemctl -l status xinetd

I have been using PowerDNS along with PowerAdmin for 3 or 4 years now.
It works nicely, I haven't had to mess with it in years. It's very stable,
and I do have the MySQL replication
Hi Michael,

That looks good. No change needed.
Now fire up phpMyAdmin and check the "Users" table.
How many "root" users do you have there?
In specific: Is there a root user with the host '127.0.0.1' that has
"ALL PRIVILEGES"? If not, you

Yes, the command is geoiplookup and then put the IP in question behind it:
]# geoiplookup 8.8.8.8
GeoIP Country Edition: US, United States
GeoIP ASNum Edition: AS15169

I do not see that line at all. Here is my /etc/hosts
# /etc/hosts
# Auto-generated file. Please put your customizations at the very end.
# Entries for localhost and primary IP address:
127.0.0.1

Please check /etc/hosts and see if there is anything

No, in that case (GeoIP being wrong about the country of an IP)
whitelisting the User in question is the best approach.

Hi Chris,
Don't go messing with m4 files or behind the scenes in Sendmail.
Been using BQ and BX for too long to do that! ☺
You want to set a whitelist in AV-Spam. Do this via the GUI at Server
Management > Network Services > AV-SPAM. Then under the Network tab,

I would appreciate your suggestions though. I am sure Michael will advise if it

Ages ago I found a hack for sendmail that allows you to check the incoming
IP against a DNS whitelist and it it gets a hit then sendmail doesn't
bother with checking all the DNS blacklists - spamhaus etc, so it's an
override effectively.
Search for dnswl.m4 and it may show up, else I can dig it

There are two main problems I have had that others might benefit from

One, If you use the Server Backup package from Solarspeed/Compass you should

I have done a few 5208 to 5209 migrations a few different ways and on each
one I am unable to access any MariaDB databases via 127.0.01. Only localhost
will work.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any idea how to fix it?

I ask because I'm looking for an alternative to MyDNS/MyDNS-NG.
In specific I'm looking for an easy alternative to migrate away from
MyDNS onto something that's still actively maintained,
