I have one of these with a classic MFJ booboo inside.
The brass runner on the roller coil was not machined correctly and will not
stay engaged with the coil.
I'm planning to machine one, but wonder if anyone has a junker from which I
might get a runner, or even a whole coil?

I have a Sola pwr xfmr from a Motorola repeater, 80s vintage.
It has a heavy winding of about 20VCT, with 10 ga wire, a 6V winding and a 400V
winding, low current.
The Sola number is 22-1251.
The Motorola number is 25D84516G01.

My son uses a 135' OCFD and small MB with great results.
The OCF moderates the Z swings of the center fed flat top.

OK, I got some useful inputs.
As it seemed, there was a metering problem.
I love radio forensics and got to use them here.
I won't give the gory details, but the PO had put a 1K resistor in series with
the meter.
It was not a factor reading B+, since the meter is fed from a 100K source.

I'm interested in the radio equipment used by Adm, Byrd, for both Arctic and
Antarctic expeditions.
There were fixed and portable stations, including for airplanes and dog sleds.
There are many mentions of radio comms in books and reports, but of course no
details like brands or circuitry.

I doubt it was the portable Beachmaster, because there is a matching pwr xfmr
that weighs more than 50 lbs!
