As a teen, I am behind this idea. It can't hurt, and if it somehow
started to (forget that I'm invalidating the first clause in this
sentence) it's easy to shut down.

I like the idea; now that I'm back in the Boston area I may actually
attend events, rather than lurk on the mailing list...
Somewhere with better food is preferable, since some people may not

A bit of a side question; when would you ever want to try and match an
empty regex? Wouldn't it be semantically saner to use defined?
