I had an ultrasound on Tuesday. Both babies looked healthy, heartbeats were measured, breathing was detected, everything looked good.
The girl has begun to drop. Her head is a little bit into my pelvis now, which made getting a cross-section of her head for measurement somewhat interesting. The boy's head is next to and above hers. They're both head-down, and don't have *room* to change that at this point, so I'm not going to automatically need a Caesarean section (for which I am glad). The various measurements taken indicated the same weight for each -- 2062 grams, or about 4 lb. 9 oz. on each. That's around 50th %ile for singleton babies around 33 weeks. For twin girls, it's 80th %ile and for twin boys, more like 65th %ile. So, while they're not quite as huge, relatively speaking, as they were a month ago, they're still of respectable size. I guess I ought to try to eat more.... 3 more weeks, and I can stop worrying about them being born too early. 5 more weeks, and they'll be taking steps to help get them out of me. I'm hoping not to go into labor before September 14, for a number of reasons. September 17th is my father-in-law's birthday, and it might make a nice present for him if they were born then, but babies come when they come, not when anyone else *wants* them to come. :) Both the people who examined me this week agree that I ought to be good for another 3 weeks, so I guess my belly will just keep expanding awhile longer and I'll keep getting kicked near my stomach halfway through dinner. :) Julia _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
