I wont be able to make the AGM this weekend so I'm posting
this to britdisc in the hope that it stimulates some debate.
I am a little concerned about the proposed mixed tour / open
tour structure next year. The decision appears to have
been made to split the tour season into a mixed tour and

I came across this entry in the Wikipedia for ultimate frisbee.

It's always interesting to see the public face of ultimate. This is
written from a North American perspective, but has a nice summation
what ultimate is, what the current status of the s
Jamie,
Do you really think that ultimate is at the stage were there is even a
danger that people will take performance enhancing drugs?
I have problems with the nebulous concept of 'best interests of the
sport'. What happens if that doesn't match with the best interests of
the people who play
WOW, UK have made it to all 5 finals!
The women and the open look like they scraped through their semi
final matches by a single point. The mixed side won by only 2.
Any news from those who have seen these matches?

would cover us in time.

I've got two general questions about indoor ultimate this winter.
We're trying to get brookes university playing ultimate and one of
our targets is to get a team to play in student indoor regionals.
I've not been following this especially closely but, I don't
seem to have noticed the event

To second that idea.
There are a whole number of ultimate information things that go on
that aren't suited for either britdisc or the events calander.
For instance. In oxford, There are a whole heap of teams which
play here: OW, TeamSharks, Martha and the Mootones. These all

I think that might be a good point. The question is though
- how are clubs ment to attract these student players? We
see hundreds of players playing in the indoor season but
where do they go in the summer. Most clubs would happily
take them on.
We saw only two student players this summer
I also agree that the future of british ultimate is about
growth, about bringing more people into the sport. I played
in a european tournament for the first time this year
realised how small it actually is in many countries (no more
than 20 players in portugal, dominated by 2 cities in

It's always nice to see that values of modesty, graciousness
and sportsmanship are still held dear at red.
