There was a comment in one of the many e-mails going around over the last 
couple of days that the reason there isn't enough pitch time for the B-Tour or 
why the A-Tour has to play lots of games in a row is that the TDs are cramming 
in as many teams as possible to make as much money as possible.

I'd like to quickly defend that, seeing as there are lots of you and only a few 
of us!

As TD we do not set uku policy on who can and can't play.  All we do is provide 
the venue and run the tournament when you all get there.  We tell the DoC who 
has entered and it's then them and the UKU who make the decision on the 
schedule and the size of the tournament.

Similarly, there was talk a few weeks back of charging more to the A-Tour teams 
because they get more pitch time - but this is not a decision we can make, it 
has to be the UKU.  Personally, I'd like to do that but without a steer from 
UKU I don't feel I have the authority to do so.

So, like I said - don't blame us!
