and in fact Automake has stopped trying to cater to Debian install-info since
the release 1.11.2.
So I have an install-info from dpkg, which is used by fink, which
installs packages to another prefix (default: /sw):
fang% which install-info
/sw/sbin/install-info
fang% dpkg -S `which
