Hi
There seems to be a problem with the sort command when using the -k option. If you look at the Example 1 below you will see that I am trying to order the output by file size, yet if you look closely:

Just a sidenote -- Richard's point is that the "K" means "kernel of" to
distinguish between FreeBSD as the whole system and KFreeBSD as its kernel.
Then the kernel name in that context would be "KFreeBSD" ("Kernel o

probably wants it "GNU/KNetBSD" either [1], and that if you want to discuss it
with the netbsd*-gnu people you can reach them at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Is such feature welcome? If so, I'll ask for copyright papers and start work.

Hi!
Some time ago I sent a patch that fixes OS name resocgnition for GNU/KFreeBSD
systems:
http://mail.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-coreutils/2003-09/msg00032.html
Will this go for 5.0.91 + 1 ?

;Some kernels (e.g., FreeBSD's, HP-UX's) report the same name as their
overlying operating systems; others (e.g., Linux, SunOS) do not."
This way we are saying that the kernel "reports" that name, but we don't
claim that the name is correct. It's left at
platforms. I can send a patch for this if you like.
- Revert it to the old behaviour. This has the only disadvantage that uname
would say "Linux" is the system. But GNU uname is just a messenger; if
you really want to fix this you should discuss it with the maintainers
