Problems... (MSDOS version)

Hello- I have the fileutils shipped with the most recient CDROM for Window/MSDOS, 3.16 I believe. If I am in the root, or 1 directory down, everything works fine (example: ls displays the directory contents). But if I am more then 1 directory down, I get a no such file error. Example: C:\D

chmod in Cygwin bash shell

I've been working with the Cygwin bash shell and using the chmod command but something strange is happening... When I create a file and change the mode using the -c flag it says that the mode has been changed but when the ls -l command is envoked, the permissions have stayed the same... EXAMPLE:
