I'd like to fix it, but I'm not very keen to download the sources, build
the kernel and then find that I cannot reproduce the problem.

I found GRUB cannot boot FreeBSD 4.0-current with ata driver.
I guess GRUB assumes wd driver when booting FreeBSD from ata device.
Following is that I had done.
