I had a look to the new version of the user's manual. I do prefer the
way it is organized in this brand new version than the way it was in the
previous one.
As I'm writing a GRUB Howto for french users, I have tried to remember
what have been the difficulties for me the first time I met t
can someone please help? lilo wouldn't work on my laptop because my linux
partition is over the 1024 cylinder mark. so i installed grub. worked
fine.. and when i booted into windows (typed that unholy 5 lines of stuff)
it still worked, but now my D: drive is gone in windows... what happened?

Yes, it's possible using the aout kludge mechanism and a linker script so
move the export tables before the BSS.

VFAT (long filename support on top of FAT) is supported by grub since
grub-0.5.94
