I'm planning to use LVM with MD devices and I wonder if GRUB is somehow
able to boot using LVM on / or will I have to go back to Lilo?

When network booting I have the following error:
Probing...[EEPRO100]
Error:12 invalid device requested
I Have recently download and compiled grub (grub-0.5.96.1) with network
boot and diskless support:
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/grub/ --enable-eepro100 --enable-diskless
