I've ran 'grub-install /dev/hda' as well as grub with commands 'root
(hd0,0)' 'setup (hd0)' 'quit'
Then when I rebooted the machine, I'd get the error: GRUB Read Error.
LILO works fine.
In the BIOS it has an option Large Disk Access Mode with options DOS
or Other, I've tried both with the same
I was having a similar problem... My machine would boot and say:
GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB GRUB etc...
Then i tried to replace the disk with another known good linux boot
disk. The new disk caused the computer to say only:
GRUB
and nothing else.

IIRC, we have discussed the same issue in this list several times. The
reasons why such a feature has never been implemented in the official
source tree are:
* It would break backward compatibility, because GRUB must pass the
arguments to an OS image as they are. Modifying them

I was wondering now hard it would be to port a driver from etherboot to grub, namely
the prism 2 chipset for the Intersil 802.11b cards. I'm trying to netboot NetBSD over
one and it seems like this might be my solution. I noticed that many of the files are
similar between the two
