Follow-up Comment #5, bug #3404 (project grub): Two small comments:
1. If it is working on some chipsets/MBs then it might not be the fault of Grub (see also Peter Anwin's comments on buggy BIOSes and memdisk). 2. If this works (as noted in a very early comment): > Copy memtest.bin to a floppy disk: > dd if=3D/boot/memtest86/memtest.bin of=3D/dev/fd0 > Boot with the floppy. please try: chainloader (dev,part)/boot/memtest86/memtest.bin (don't forget to add boot, if you are trying that on the Grub command line) Grub can boot off any saved boot sectors ... regards Bernhard _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=3404> _______________________________________________ Nachricht geschickt von/durch Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
