FC4/FC5 Grub does not load stage1 after install OK ________________________________________________________________________ Managed time to make a boot cd to test the installation.
Without LVM I can boot ok from the grub console on the CD (I have to fix it so that it is strait through). Erased the the MBR with dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda bs=512 count=1. Recreated the partition map as it was, before the erase, with fdisk /dev/hda re grub-install with the configfile that boot from the cd. Everything OK it seems. Reboot. Nada. Still grub does not load from the MBR. Tried to use the disk boot menu from the bios to be sure I started from /dev/hda. Nada. Help! (FC works fine once booted) Why nobody ever answer my questions?
