Gub 0.97 prevents boot from CD

Hi—   I have been trying to go from FC4 to FC5.  I set my computer to boot from the CD drive first.  I put in the disks (I have burned several) and each time the Grub Stage2 comes up and diverts control from the CD drive to the hard drive boot. What can I do to get my computer to boot fro

Not a bug, not even a problem - just curious. I understand what the device.map is and how to specify it, but I have yet to come across something that uses it;by which I mean, something such as a subcommand whose syntax includes a reference to a device in unix /dev/xxx form and then revers

Hi, Help me please. Starting with Linux. I tried to install Easy 2.1 (Linux) from a CD. The installation and partitions was OK. But when I tried to boot wo the CD, it was say "Système d'exploitation manquant". It seems that that the installation don't modify the MBR. The way on the HD is /mnt/hda1.
