I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 about a week ago. After the install of
the upgrade, Grub will no longer load the Win XP side of my C drive
(which I have partitioned for Win XP on one side and Ubuntu on the
other). I still have one application on the Win XP side that I need to
access on occasion

that I have been using TrueCrypt in 'Single OS' mode. Maybe it's muliti OS'
mode would let me switch to GRUB afterwards.
