Follow-up Comment #4, bug #30574 (project grub): The problem is something to do with the RAID controller.
I had to move one of my RAID harddiscs to other equipment. Changing 'Drive Controller' in my BIOS from 'RAID On' to 'RAID Autodetect/AHCI' allows me to get to my second XP using: root=(hd1,1) drivemap -s (hd0) (hd1) chainloader (hd1,1)+1 boot To double check I changed the 'Drive Controller' back to 'RAID On' and used the commands above and I got a black screen with a blinking cursor. (Having the 'Drive Controller' as 'RAID On' but with no RAID discs set up still allows me to get into my first XP). Then changing the 'Drive Controller' back to 'RAID Autodetect/AHCI' allowed me to get to my second XP using the above commands. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?30574> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list Bug-grub@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
