Hi all, well.. i'm experiencing problems with a highpoint hpt/372-based IDE raid card.. just really really similar to the one you can see at http://www.mail-archive.com/bug-grub%40gnu.org/msg06733.html Anyway. I have 2 disks in RAID-1 on this RocketRaid board. While having all the data on a single disk, GRUB worked perfectly because no RAID was active. As soon as I put the second disk and made the mirror GRUB stopped to work, even if the copy process terminated succesfully. I investigated a few.. In a few words, GRUB installs itself in the mbr (first 512 bytes of the disk). Those RAID controllers changes the last 64 bytes of the mbr to store the mirror relationship informations. In fact, by booting with a grub floppy and issuing the "root (hd0,0)" and "setup (hd0)" commands, the disk came back to boot but the two disks got magically divided and the RAID-1 relationship vanished. Is there any way to solve the problem? Regards, Alessio Orlandi
