I applied the following patch http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?17963
to make GRUB 0.97 recognize and boot an x86_64 elf image.
On i386 GRUB builds fine but on x86_64 i get an error (shouldn't
it be the other way around?!). This is it:
#./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install.

Can Grub Legacy boot elf64 images on the amd64 arch? If not, can Grub2
currently do that?
