Title: RE: Dual Booting Linux & Win2k Pro w/GRUB Legacy
If you have your NON-OS (Windows) on a seperate partition, then just install Fedora, the installer can handle that if you remember to do the disk partitioning manually.

I think that 2 seconds is a quite normal time, depending on how you
measure it
Have you tried to run grub to install
root (hd0,0)
setup (hd0)

Why not use a DHCP boot - you can still boot from the HD, but the DHCP
server will give a different grub menu depending on the time.

Hi
You can do something like this with grub 0.96 and later.
The file /boot/grub/default will point out which entry in menu.lst to
boot.
There are commands to modify this default file from both menu.lst &
Linux
See the example in the Grub manual on how to create a menu.lst which

No, grub needs to be loaded from the USB first which is the task
Hi Jonathan
The command line tool grub-set-default will set which menu item to boot
on next!
The savedefault command will in the menu.lst file set which to boot on
next.
With grub-set-default to set grub to boot on ex. 4 and in menu item 4,
savedefault sets it back to 1
Unfortunately you need a
For this feature a watchdog is the best solution! Some systems can set
a watchdog from Bios, but GRUB can also be patched to set the watchdog
before calling the OS
If the OS doesn't come up and feeds the dog, then the system will
automatically reset and the old system come back

As far as I remmember you should do a pivot root on the cramfs disk in
initrd/linuxrc.
Thus the grub files would be outside the cramfs.

Hello
On some CPU's & chipsets there are a posibility for a watchdog. Primarily for
embedded environments.
I know about one patch where Grub has been changed to use a certain watchdog
implementation to guard the boot process and fallback to a failsafe boot entry.
The basic idea is that grub ena
Hello
Just a small question. Where can I find a patch or some instructions that makes
Linux 2.6 multiboot compliant.
