I've just installed Slackware 9.1 and would like to use Grub 0.94 to

I have installed Gentoo 1.4 and am trying to use grub as the boot loader.
I have my root file system (/dev/sda3) set up as reiserfs.
my grub commands are as follows:
root (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/boot/bzImage root=/dev/sda3
initrd (hd0,0)/boot/initrd-2.4.20-gentoo-r8
boot
The boot process
Would someone kindly point me toward the GRUB manual?

Hello folks. I've successfully made my grub boot disk but booting my
system fails at the following point:
request_module [block-major-8]: Root fs not mounted
VFS: Cannot open root device "sda5" or 08:05
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
I'm running a Red Hat 7.1 system with 2 SCSI HDDs
