I tried 2 cvs checkouts, and savedefault still doesn't work. The second one
from today has the extended check from 0203 which fails for my setup.
The first checkout didn't complain, but didn't work as well.
Although it reports bad version I guess this is still related to the original
problem.

I tried the default saved / savedefault combination with an debian binary
package (same grub version) and it fails as well. And please, if you have
posted replies to the list only, could you repost them to me. I kind of
forgot to join the list (yeah I know this is stupid ...:/ )

hi,
I tried to use the savedefault command but it didn't work. Setup:
grub-0.5.96.1
built from tarball
install with grub-install on /dev/hda
There seems to be something wrong with savedefault. I changed the stage2
saved_entry in asm.S to test the "default saved" command and it worked.
