Hello, I'm currently using Ubuntu Dapper Drake. I upgraded it a while ago from Breezy Badger. So, my story goes, I was trying to find a way to boot my recently installed Fedora Core via grub. Someone recommended that I reinstall grub from the Dapper live CD. I did that, but when I rebooted, I got an error that said, "GRUB read error", then my hard drive made some sounds. I can't even boot up any of my operating systems now, and my only method of communication is via live cds. I use grub 0.97. I tried to fix in many ways, I tried booting from Super Grub Disk, it couldn't fix it. Things got a little better after I installed grub from the breezy live CD, after that, I was able to get a command-line-ish prompt, instead of just a GRUB read error. If anyone can help me, it would be VERY appreciated. Thank you. -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/GRUB-read-error-%28Urgent%29-tf2445131.html#a6816785 Sent from the Grub - Bugs mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
