You chainload the right partition?
The one with ntldr/boot.ini in it?
and if it's a different disk then hd0 do you use the drivemap command?

Here is my entry in grub.conf
menuentry Windows XP Pro x64 Edition {
set root=(hd3,1)
chainloader +1
}

drivemap is similar to grub-legacy's map command
In your case just use drivemap -s (hd0) (hd3)
