Follow-up Comment #1, bug #30507 (project grub): This is a good idea but I have to think how to implement it. The problem is that several simultaneous terminals may be active and in usb branch even multiple serial ones (e.g. one for management card and another for braille display)

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #30507 (project grub): This is a good idea but I have to think how to implement it. Hmmm, grub has no piping and no while read... has it? :) What about serial --id id --eport and only export the config of one of the lines at a time to a predefined set of variables?
