On a very fresh install of a system, I have just cloned the Guix
repository then run the dance ./bootstrap, ./configure and make. It
fails because:

Run 'info guix' to read the manual.
And this works only if the foreign distribution has already installed an
’info’ reader. That could not be the case.

The bordeaux build farm depends on computing the derivations on one
machine, then potentially building them on a different machine.
Some of the build machines don't have a new enough guix-daemon that
understands builtin:git-download, so derivations that use this are
sometimes failing (e.g. [1])
