I have done it in Debian GNU/Linux. But after this operation the
diskette became not readable. Maybe it was bad floppy I will try this
operation again with other floppy.

Yes, that's a limitation of the ext2fs translator that is currently
included in the Debian GNU/Hurd distribution: it can only cope with block
sizes of 4096 by
