bug report: measure spacing on whole-note chords

2006-04-27 Thread Dave K.
This just looks wrong to me. More space is needed on the left-hand side. Version 2.8.1 { 1 1 1 1 1 1 } test.png Description: PNG image ___ bug-lilypond mailing list bug-lilypond@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-lilypond

Re: Fingering of Chords and Placement of Rests

2006-04-15 Thread Dave K.
According to my Essential Dictionary of Music Notation, the correct behavior is that fingerings should be below the slur (when placing them above would be too far apart from the notes), and if there is a collision the slur should be broken. If the fingerings need to be placed within the staff space

Re: horizontal placement of chords is strange

Just wondering if this is an actual issue or whether I'm misreading things. Is the horizontal placement of these chords alright? I was under the impression that there should be space on the left. On 4/2/06, Dave K. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > v2.8.1 > > { > > 1^\fermata

horizontal placement of chords is strange

2006-04-02 Thread Dave K.
v2.8.1 { 1^\fermata 1^\fermata 1^\fermata 1^\fermata } Well I had an issue with the fermatas, I thought they should be above the highest note for whole notes, and maybe a bit higher? But the real issue here is horizontal placement. The chords are way too far to the left. What happened to the sp

default placement of codas and segnos over barlines

2006-04-02 Thread Dave K.
When you insert script markup over a barline, it centers it over the barline. But shouldn't the default behavior be stylistically correct? For example, my Essential Dictionary of Music Notation tells me coda symbols should be aligned flush right, and segnos flush left with the barline. As far as I

default placement of fermatas correct?

fermata placement for chords - bug?
