You could use extra-offset, but this doesn't work for the "snippet" thingy
(it gets cut off again).

Changing the dimensions of char_box only moves the bar line around on the
staff.
There should be a way of implementing what \stopStaff does. B

I think the problem is in glyph char_box: it seems that currently its width
is 0. Thus, LilyPond doesn't reserve any space for it. Try changing line
