Hm, it contains historic information of some interest. So deleting seems
excessive. Maybe the top of the file should get a pointer to the preferred

It should be deleted; we use Documentation/included/authors.itexi instead.
When it is deleted, make sure the GNUmakefiles and/or GUB is updated so
