I would like to install lilypond on my system, using SuSE 9.1.
I tried downloading the .package pack, but get the error message that
python language runtime is not available. Is it impossible to install a
".package" program under SuSE (as i heard someone saying)?

to install python. I don't know any details about SuSE, but

I have installed SuSE 9.3 on a computer, and then installed lilypond 2.7.10
from the autopackage. It installs without incident. The python21 rpm
package present in earlier versions of SuSE 9 seems not to be present in SuSE
9.3, and is not needed for the install. I have not checked yet to see

I have tried an install of the 2.7.11 autopackage under SuSE 9.0. Now the
problem is Guile, which it says is not found. I checked the system, and SuSE
9.0 has Guile 1.6.4-42. I guess lilypond 2.7.x or 2.6.x needs Guile 1.6.5 or
later?
I checked around and find that SuSE stuck with Guil
