Late last year, I tried to download the lilypond software. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. I have made a second attempt but my computer is telling me that I must delete the previous download. I have tried to do this but because I proberly used the the recycle bin rather that the remove file

Hi. I downloaded version 2.12 for my G$ with mac 0s x 10.3.9. the download went smooth but then I couldn't figure out how to actually get started on a composition. I got past the pdf part. when I clicked on one of the note heads on the pdf page it just re-opened the instructions page. what do I do?

Welcome to the world of LilyPonding. If you are used to Windows programs, LilyPond is very different from anything you have seen before. There's no graphical user interface where you can click, instead you have to specify the music in a textual format, save it to a file and then double-click on

It seems that the currently used mailing list software doesn't support that feature (I think it used to do before they introduced the searching facilities). The mailing lists are also archived at www.mail-archive.com but they don't seem to have any downloadable archive copies either. /Mats Silv
