There is no reason a 32 bit gnu make won't work on a 64 bit HP-UX system. 64 bit HP-UX systems are capable of running both 32 bit and 64 bit executables. If you look at the standard HP make (/usr/ccs/bin/make) you will see that it and indeed, most of the HP commands, are still 32 bits. If you
