My system is a Linux Ubuntu 5.04 and runs over AMD64 +3000. I tried to
install gnughostscript 8.01 but...

Sorry, this list is for bugs in make, not issues with building
gnughostscript. You might want to raise the issue wherever you obtained
gnughostscript. Whoever you raise it with will want to see the exact
text of the error message.
