This has already been reported as bug #1536. (See the GNU make project
on http://savannah.gnu.org) It will be fixed in the next release.

Dear bug-make:
On the NetBSD systems I've tried (1.6 and -current as of last week)
% tar zxf make-3.80.tar.gz
% cd make-3.80
% ./configure
% make
# make install
works, but when I tried using
% sh ./build.sh
after ./configure it gave this error:
compiling ar.c...
compiling arscan.c...
compili
