I did test on my laptop (1366x768). dmesg shows efifb0 at mainbus0
2048x2048 32bpp.
It was an incorrect proposal on my part :(

The man page says using -l to print the fingerprint I can add a -v to get the
pretty art, but this doesn't work with -F. It just prints the ugly base64
gibberish.

I just upgraded to the latest available snapshot (amd64, Aug 05 22:45)
and when the system reboots and runs fw_update, I get the following:
http://firmware.openbsd.org/firmware/snapshots/vmm-firmware-1.10.2p4.tgz:
unsigned package (signify(1) doesn't see old-style signatures)
It seems run(4) kernel panic during boot problem have disappeared on 6.1
amd64 with GENERIC.MP.
