It is most frequently happens when using gedit loaded with plugins.
somehow X does not throw core, so cannot provide a backtrace, sorry
but also happens (rare) with just chromium and a couple of terminals.
also could happen with emacs. but never with gvim.

Hi,
If possible, try to run gdb to get a backtrace and post the
backtrace. It will be more efficient.
