Manager Technology is also responsible for mentoring and coaching people and providing technology- related Thought leadership, including supporting sales activities. *The ideal candidate would have:* 1. End to end application development experience including designing new modules or applications (as opposed to enhancing/supporting an existing design) with any Object Oriented language such as C#, Java, Ruby, Python etc 2. Design & implementation experience in JavaScript/AJAX based applications, utilizing at least one of the following JavaScript MVC frameworks: Ext JS, Angular JS, Backbone, Dojo and Ember JS. 3. Understands the elements of clean and maintainable JavaScript code. 4. Evolve coding guidelines for the project and coach/mentor the development team. 5. Ability to refactor code to bring it under tests. 6. Enforce delivery quality of the team. 7. Good verbal and written communication skills. 8. Experience working with globally distributed teams. 9. Agile Experience. 10. Experience tuning JavaScript/AJAX based applications for load, performance & security, including knowledge of different approaches and their relative merits. 11. Responsible for enforcing technology standards, best practices and approaches to be leveraged by the team. d. Leads team by example by getting hands-on to deliver complex functionality. e. Support planning activities for the various tracks/modules. f. Ensures different dependencies are tracked and resolved on time. g. Troubleshoot complex technical issues on projects h. Manages technical debt of the project in a proactive manner. i. Drives setup of the different environment (development, testing, staging, production etc) *3. Coach/Mentor the team.* a. Manage a small to medium sized team and resolve issues and dependencies in the team independently or, with Project Manager. b. Review the key objectives of projects and clarify the linkage of tasks to the overall objectives c. Responsible for performance assessment and working with the team for creating growth plans d. Effectively communicate with the team on a periodic basis the company strategy, important events e. Coach and mentor the team to help deliver to the client expectation f. Actively participate in, and assists with, company events such as hiring, training and internal initiatives. g. Drive knowledge sharing lessons learned from project experiences *4. Manage Client Relationship* a. Represent the organization in customer-facing communication pertinent to Sapient’s technical expertise on the specific platform b. Interacts with multiple clients (client senior developers and architects) to create technology specifications from the business issues/requirements at an application level c. Identifies choices and tradeoffs involved in designing and implementing a solution and communicates them to the client. d. Raises technical design and implementation issues in the modules and drives resolution with the client e. Participates in client workshops like fusions *5. Provide Thought Leadership* Supports capability building for the organization (through tutorials, white papers etc.) in their areas of expertise Develops and promotes architectural best practices and standards Stays abreast with the current affairs like leading packages and vendors, forthcoming architectures and trends, and existing and forthcoming standards.
